‘The Slaughterhouse’ up for screening at Int’l Film Festival Mannheim-Heidelberg

‘The Slaughterhouse’ is set for screening at Int'l Film Festival Mannheim-Heidelberg in Germany.

Iranian feature ‘The Slaughterhouse’ is set for screening at the 69th International Film Festival Mannheim-Heidelberg (IFFMH) in Germany.

Abbas Amini’s ‘The Slaughterhouse’ will join the second-oldest German film competition (the oldest being Berlin) on November 12-22, 2020.   

The flick is the story of Amir who is deported from France. Unemployed and idle, he has to stay with his father. He later gets involved in a horrifying crime which leads him towards the foreign currencies black market.   

Hassan Pour-Shirazi, Baran Kosari, Mani Haqiqi and Amir-Hossein Fathi make the cast team of Amini’s film.

‘The Slaughterhouse’ had its theatrical debut at the 38th Fajr Film Festival in Iran.

It is also the winner of a nom for a Kim Ji-Seok award at the 25th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in South Korea.

Established in 1952, the Mannheim-Heidelberg International Filmfestival is an annual film festival which presents films of international newcomer directors.

The IFFMH will run in two parts: the cinema week (Nov. 12-18) and the online extension IFFMH EXPANDED (Nov. 19-22).
